What is Future Living Festival?

Future Living is a new one-day Festival in Copenhagen centered on how cities are drivers for change and how local solutions can help solve problems all over the globe by showcasing concrete solutions from Copenhagen. The festival aims to present a diverse program anchored in the city’s resilient context of housing, mobility, resources and togetherness.

Ambra Guglietti
Senior Business Exploration, Portfolio & Partnering Manager at VELUX Group

Ambra is a sustainable energy engineer specialized in building design. At VELUX, she is part of the Buildings of the Future department, where she combines her background in sustainable and healthy buildings with industry foresight, research, and innovation, to explore opportunities to accelerate the green transition. She is also part of the team behind Living Places Copenhagen, an experimental project to research and develop sustainable ways of building future homes.

Author & Pioneer of Creative City Building

Charles Landry is an international authority on using imagination and creativity in urban change, coining the term "Creative City" in the late 1980s. Charles helps cities identify their potential to become more resilient and self-sustaining.

Cindie Christiansen
CEO of Foodprint Nordic

Cindie is driving impact at scale through regenerative initiatives and new business models supporting agriculture that benefit human health, the climate, and the environment. She is the Executive Director of the nonprofit organization Foodprint Nordic scaling regenerative agriculture through the food world and consumers, and advocates for responsible food, healthy soil, and circular food systems.

David Bernard Hally
Strategy & Process Manager at VELUX Group

David Bernard Hally is a strategy and process manager within the Buildings of the Future department at the VELUX Group, positioning VELUX as a leader in the transition to healthy and sustainable building design through the dissemination of knowledge and collaboration with ecosystem partners. David also drives the partnership and collaboration model of Living Places Copenhagen, an experimental living environment.

The UrbanRural Hub of Transylvania initiative aims to develop an integrated local land-food policy. By connecting metropolitan spatial planning with the economic and cultural aspects of food chains, it strives to diminish economic discrepancies between the urban and the rural areas in the County of Cluj, improve public and environmental health, and create awareness for the agro-craft heritage of Transylvania.

Senior Project Manager of Meanwhile Space CIC

LJ Works is a community hub project in Lambeth, a district in London. As part of the project, a former brownfield at Loughborough Junction is being redeveloped by Jen Storan from Meanwhile Space CIC and Xander Beck from the Lambeth Council, into a space for local people to work, create, and thrive. The site will include a community farm, a community kitchen, and a range of affordable workspaces for residents of the hyperlocal area.

Jenny Grettve
Strategic designer & Director of When!When

Jenny Grettve is a strategic designer and director of When!When!, a feminine systems change agency with the belief that all are deeply intertwined. She also holds a MA in architecture from Lund Technological University, Sweden, and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia. Over the last few years, she has been co-directing Dark Matter Labs and runs the zine Horizon Manifestos - a publication that collects brief thoughts on economic futures.

Jon-Paul Hedge
Director for Exeter City Council

Liveable Exeter is the city’s major housing and development program. In the next 20 years, up to 12,000 new homes will be built. Dom Jinks (University of Exeter) and Jon-Paul Hedge (Exeter City Council) aim to place culture and community at the heart of place-making innovation with their project. Exeter ensures that culture plays a significant role in the city's evolution, connected to heritage, public art, public realm use, festivals, and other cultural activities.

Jonas Halfter
Co-Founder & Brand Director at Almenr

Jonas has a strong background in service design, innovation, and branding. His role involves exploring how co-creation and design principles can positively influence the (built) world, focusing on cultivating identities within built and digital environments. He is a co-founder of Almenr. Jonas has also worked as an Experience Designer at Condé Nast while co-founding The Lab and was part of the team that launched Wired Magazine Germany.

Kasper Ax is a Danish architect, designer, and researcher with extensive experience in project management, both nationally and internationally. Kasper specializes in innovative building design using architectural strategies within digital design, manufacturing, and automation processes. He earned his Masters's and Diploma degrees from the Bartlett School of Architecture in London.

The BlockChain City, carried out by Arcitectspl and the city council of Mińsk Mazowiecki, aims to introduce the new technology of Blockchain in the municipality of Mińsk Mazowiecki with a participatory approach for all residents. Blockchain is a tool that responds to the needs of complex socio-technological systems like cities and offers various uses within the urban context. The technology will manage decentralized access to fenced areas (buildings, housing estates, parking lots).

Maria Gimenez Grau is an urban resilience and systems strategist. She founded The City of Arts, a research City Lab that looks at social justice, thriving urban futures, and systems innovation. Maria holds a MA in Architecture and Urban Planning from the Barcelona School of Architecture ETSAB (UPC), and the Mackintosh School of Architecture, Glasgow School of Arts.

Markus Hipp has been a Board member of the BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt since 2006. In this function, he is devoting his energy and passion to help build the Foundation's global leadership programs and Responsible Leaders Network.

Mathias Møl Dalsgaard

Matias Møl Dalsgaard is co-founder and CEO of GoMore, the Nordics' largest car-sharing portal. Matias has a background in comparative literature and a Ph.D. and postdoctoral degree in philosophy. Matias has also worked as an associate at the consulting company McKinsey & Company before co-founding GoMore.

Head of the secretariat of SAGA

Naima Yasin is one-half of the award-winning podcast "A Seat At The Table." She is also head of the secretariat of SAGA, a party-neutral youth movement with over 1,700 members that works to promote youth issues independent of party politics.

Neel Tamhane
Strategic Advisor

Neel has led many energy transition portfolios towards enabling decentralized ownership and building a bottom-up prosumer-led future for energy. Most recently, he has been working on identifying and designing solutions for IKEA to help people take the energy transition into their own hands. He has also worked on designing and deploying novel energy access solutions such as mini-grids and the world's first P2P energy trading platform in South Asia.

Nicklas Stenfeldt is a social entrepreneur who started his first company at the tender age of 12. He is the Co-founder of two socially responsible businesses, Elderlearn and Kople. Nicklas is also an advisor dedicated to creating concepts, building communities, and ensuring social inclusion.

Oliver Anton (they/them) is a Philosopher and Project Manager at UNGDOMSBUREAUET. Through the project Future Generations Shaping Future Technology, they research how to democratize our collective notion of technology. As of today, the conversation is narrowed down to a small scale of decision-makers, establishing a high degree of gatekeep in the public debate and leaving people with a feeling that only coding and back-end knowledge will help them gain access to participate in the conversation.

Raffaela Grimm
Program Manager for RISE Cities

Raffaela Grimm is the Program Manager of RISE Cities. Driven by the fascination of interdisciplinary thinking and the deep belief that this century calls for immediate and joint actions, Raffaela joined the BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt’s RISE Cities program in 2022. As an allrounder interested in many fields, Raffaela has already worked in climate impact research and climate adaptation, communications, and the arts before joining the Foundation.

Rasmus Juul-Nyholm is the co-founder of Home.Earth, a new real estate company that works with a true triple bottom line. In addition, Rasmus is the founder and former director of the property management company Cobblestone, founder and chairman of Proptech Denmark, and active investor and board member in several real estate, technology, and sustainability startups.

Global Design Director at Henning Larsen - Copenhagen

Danish architect, Signe Kongebro, is responsible for founding Henning Larsen’s sustainability department and is one of the driving forces behind the practice’s growing focus on sustainable construction. The Fælledby project is an example of this, an all-timber neighborhood in Copenhagen designed to reduce the carbon impact.

Senior Director, Buildings of the Future, VELUX

Simay Arikan is the senior director of business development and exploration, heading the Buildings of the Future department in the VELUX Group, with diverse industry experience in quality management, technology development, innovation management, technology commercialization, and business development. Today, she and her team focus on supporting and accelerating sustainability transitions through research, innovation, and business development activities.

Sissel Hansen
CEO & Founder of Startup Guide, Co-founder of Impact the Future

Sissel Hansen is the CEO and Founder of Startup Guide, a publishing and media company that produces books and online content to help guide entrepreneurs, and Co-founder of Impact the Future (Impact2030), a non-profit organization with the sole purpose of achieving the 17 SDG's through connecting communities sharing learnings, and showcasing the solutions and their implementation of them. The NGO is a joint project between Startup Guide and Culture Works.

Søren Ejlersen
Entrepreneur & Chef

Søren Ejlersen is an entrepreneur and chef. He co-founded Aarstiderne in 1999. In 2020, he took on an ambitious new project, co-founding Banegaarden.

Tilmann Stolte
CEO of Future Leaders Global

Tilmann is the CEO of Future Leaders Global, a community of over 2,500 people who share a common vision of building a thriving world through responsible action. With his background in innovation management, Tilmann is passionate about regenerative systems thinking and developing future leadership capabilities. Beyond his work at Future Leaders, Tilmann serves on the boards of beVisioneers and MadeToGrow and is a musician.

Stages

The Barn
The Barn stage is our main stage and heart of the festival located in the beautiful Barn 608 at Banegaarden. Discover innovative solutions through inspiring keynotes and panel debates about solutions for a range of Future Living relevant challenges within Housing and Mobility.
The Forest
In the forest we experiment and discover on different locations under the trees at Banegaarden. The forest will present you with inclusive workshops within the topics of Ressources and Togetherness.
Living Lab
Our Living Lab is where we present products and thoughts on the Future. A mix of a contemporary museum and kiosk for you to explore Future Living.
